Finance
In finance, we have a volunteer treasurer and have a vacancy for an assistant treasurer.
Treasurer Role
The treasurer is responsible for bookkeeping, tracking accounts in QuickBooks and Salesforce and producing monthly reports for the board. The treasurer is a member of the finance committee that approves funds and develops an annual budget. As we are a small organization, the treasurer also pays bills with oversight by a board member. This includes, but is not limited to, paying bills for insurance, payroll, pastor expense reimbursement, mileage allowance, office expenses and utilities. The treasurer also fills in the tax forms,
For fund-raising we need people with non-profit fund-raising experience in the San Francisco Bay Area. We also need people with grant-writing experience, as well as strategists who can find organizations to approach.
Assistant Treasurer Role
The assistant treasurer helps the treasurer with accounting. The assistant treasurer also deposits checks and collects them from our mailing address in Burlingame, CA. Tasks may also include sending donation receipts, and updating our database of donors. The assistant treasurer is also a member of the finance committee.

Fund-raising
We are looking for board members that can lead a fund-raising team as well as grant writers.
Essential Qualifications
For both areas we need people who can liaise with our donors and funders, keeping them informed and thanking them for their support. For finance positions
- Experience raising money online
- Ability to put fund-raising buttons on a website
- Knowledge of social media tools and experience at which are the most successful for an organization like SpiritCare
- Must have experience in successful grant-writing or fund-raising for organizations like SpiritCare
- Degree in management, finance, business or related experience
Other Qualifications
- Small-business or non-profit experience in keeping track of finances and funds
Typical Time Commitment
These positions could take anywhere from a few hours a month to full time.
