Position

Currently we have positions for Worship Assistants who can help Faith Leaders hold worship services in care homes. Whereas our Faith Leaders are professionals who typically lead services in a house of worship, our Worship Assistants are lay people who help religious institutions with singing and leading groups.  We also look for lay Worship Leaders that can lead less formal worship services.

As we expand our Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese services, we need translators for English-speaking Worship Leaders.

Essential Qualifications

• Experience in leading or helping with worship services, singing or youth programs.
• Ability to communicate clearly with care home residents.
• Able to recruit and organize other volunteers to take part in the service as song leaders, accompanists, readers, prayer leaders, etc.
• Ability to find substitute volunteers, when the regular participants cannot make it.

Other Qualifications

• Experience in visiting care homes a plus
• A clear voice is essential if the position requires you to read, pray or speak to the residents as a group

Typical Time Commitment

​1 hour/month at a residence plus travel & prep time to full time.
